TOMBSTONE "The Town Too Tough To Die" - Our favourite day out - And we go every time we visit !!! Take a step back into the past of the most famous frontier town of all - The list of attractions makes for a great day out (Best at the weekend) - Including the OK Corral, Crystal Palace Saloon, Bird Cage Theatre & Boothill Graveyard - Plus great cowboy shoot-outs & fab tourist/theme shopping. If you like a beer, then Tombstone is the place for some great bar hopping with quite a choice, including/especially Big Nose Kate's Saloon (Which has live bands on a Saturday evening) - Whilst it's only 60 miles South of Tucson, we always say over on a Saturday night making a weekend of it & I can highly recommend the Trailriders Motel which is in a quiet part of town but still in walking distance of all attractions (& staggering distance of the bars !!!) - On the way to (Or back from) Tombstone call into Gammon's Gulch for a guided tour of a Ghost Town Movie Set - The tour is given personally by the owner Jay (Tell him Big Dave from the UK sent you !!) - And I can guarantee it is an experience you'll never forget (Book in advance & order a brunch buffet - Keeps you going until you get to Tombstone !!!)

BISBEE "Old World Charm" - Spend a relaxing day strolling round this picturesque town in the Mule Mountains about 20 miles further on from Tombstone - And make one of the highlights a visit to the Queen Mine & a memorable guided tour down into this copper mine - If you take the tip and stay in Tombstone for the Saturday evening you could carry on to Bisbee on the Sunday morning - And then one step further on to Douglas, a border town where you can pop across for a quick sample of Mexico (But a typical Mexican border town not for the faint hearted on the Mexican side !!!)

TUBAC "The Historic Art Community" - A small village just 50 miles down I-19 well worth a stroll around - Good for a few hours - Drive on down to here after a visit to the Titan Missile Museum and/or the Mineral Discovery Centre (With Open-Pit Mine Tours) and/or carry on down to Nogalas - Both sides of this border town make for a great day out

APACHE TRAIL "Eperience the legend" - A great day out this one for sure - Up US 79 through Florence (Stop off at the State Prison Inmates Shop !!) then embark on a circuit that takes you to Goldfield Ghost Town (A great theme town on the site of a former mining town in the Superstition Mountains), The Dolly Steamboat (On Canyon Lake) & Tortilla Flat (the authentic Stage Coach Stop) - Then on through the mountains to Roosevelt Dam & onto Globe & Superior to finish the circle - On the way back stop for a great meal at the Lariat Steakhouse & Saloon in Catalina (& at the weekend listen to their house band)

PHOENIX - Downtown Phoenix is worth a look, but the best vacation time will be found visiting two awesome suburbs - Arizona's Antique Capital Glendale - A historic 'Old Towne' (Don't miss a visit to the Candy Factory !!) - And another Old Town experience in Scottsdale (Great shopping) - You can do Downtown Phoenix, Glendale & Scottsdale in one day but it could easily be two separate day trips, especially if you take in one of the cool attractions such as the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale (Indian Bend Road/Scottsdale Road), or the Pioneer Arizona Living History Museum (Experience life in turn of the century Arizona) West Pioneer Road/1 mile North of Carefree Highway (Call 602-465-1052)

GRAND CANYON - 300 miles up north on the I-10, through Phoenix & Flagstaff - The experience of a lifetime is to behold the awesome Grand Canyon - A long day out with an early start, an awesome afternoon sightseeing & a late finish - But well worth it - Alternatively you could stay over at say Sedona, Flagstaff, Williams (Do the final stage of the trip from there on the Grand Canyon Railway from Williams Station) or the Canyon itself - If you're feeling flush & want the ultimate experience, book a VIP flight day out with Westwinds Aviation from Phoenix (Includes landing, lunch & a ground tour)

ARIZONA STATE PARKS - At the last count 25 'Parks' to pick from across Arizona - Get closer to nature & history !!!
