My weekly 'Dances Taught' Update .........

Sister Kate is a big favourite of mine, so I was quick this week to share the great track with the Beginner/Improvers via Niels's cool little dance Baby Kate - And great practice for the Kick-Ball-Change/Coasters/Pivots/Shuffles all in one .... Charlstons too of course !! :-) - Great stuff ---------------- Beginners are currently enjoying Maggie's Singing The Blues (Recapped Wanna Be too - We love Cliff !!!! :-) ---- Also Simply Cha, Broken Stones, Chica Boom Boom & See The Light ............. Will be checking out Olivia's room at Tampa next weekend for Beginner/Improver prospects to bring back.

After the success of Straight Thru last Thursday decided to share that one with Tuesday & the enjoyed it just as much - Popular recaps also included Nitty Gritty, Sexy Chick, All I Want Is You, Mexicali, Mambotastic, Playing With Fire & Tap Room Boogie .......... Been enjoying smooth dances like Water & A Flame, Forgiveness & Don't Let It Go with the late-birds recently so this week we did a funky Hollywood Doll, Dee's Leeds Newline teach which went well - Next Tuesday we are doing Dee's latest pop one Forever Is Over in the main class (Release Me still a big hit with all the classes) - And I thought I'd give Team UK's Break The Dawn a go from Chicago with the late-birds, so I'm ready to have a go dancing it in Tampa !! :-)

Last Thursday I was busy picking between Straight Thru over Why So Serious but this week we did Why So Serious too - Another hit teach ............. Probably just me but watch out for the Cross 1/2 turn in the 5th section - I turned left (Seemed ok to me !!) but it's a more subtle right turn (The sheet does say so !! :-) - Fortunately someone in class had done it & put me right - It's a neat twist that after a tag a 48/2 dance turns into a 32/4 one - Cool - Straight Thru a touch more popular I think, but only just & I'm pleased I went for both in the end ............... I'm thinking the same with Maggie G's on Thursday too - Sexy Chick's a hit & I'm going to do All I Want Is You, one of my own recent favourites just now - A lovely Cha-Cha/Night-Club mix with a mega cool finish ................ Looking forward to checking out Maggie's new Westlife one too 'What About' just out this week.

Other recaps on Thursday were Nitty Gritty, Sexy Chick, Playing With Fire, Amy, Hell If I, For The First Time & Get Involved - Peter & Alison's pop one Let The Music Play is an especially popular one, check this one out, not seen many other reports yet on this one - Great dance.

We did a great new funky Newline dance with the late-birds too - Great track - Tricky timing in places - Jordan's latest Shootin' Star - A hit in Hinckley a few weeks back & well received this week - Took a while, so no time to practice Shoulda Been, top of the list for the next class, but we've been practicing it anyway - Hope I get to dance that one in Tampa - Also keen to do Paul's Another Day & MT's Injustice other hits from our Hinckley weekend - Pop Lock & Drop is our hit dance of the moment - Don't miss Sandy's workshop for that one at Tampa - That's my own favourite Newline dance just now - Craig's Playing With Fire my mainstream one.

No class next Thursday or the following Tuesday - Looking forward to seeing all our dancing friends in Tampa & bringing back some new dances - Before that looking forward to seeing 4 Card Trick for the first time at a local Halloween Social on Saturday - Boo !! :-)

Hey Brits & Euro's - While I'm on I was talking with Dan who is just back from Chicago & his next trip is Worlds which is back in Nashville for the week starting 4th January - There's a big group of Brits heading to Worlds so if you fancy an awesome time dancing & partying in the best venue you'll find & in a great place to visit have a think about joining us - It really is none stop fun - Great social dancing & a world class workshop line-up - I'm proud to have been invited back to be part of the DJ team & am really looking forward to a week with all our friends from both sides of the pond - If you are tempted, contact me if you like for any information - Just note when you are looking at flights that it seems that the 4th is the day the prices go down after the New Year prime time, so like me that's the day to travel for the best price !! :-)
